WebFlashback is a condition where the flame is burning inside the gas tip or mixer of the burner. Operating at this condition can ruin the burner and reduce the heat to the process. Lift-Off occurs when the flame is detached from the gas tip. This can cause instability in the flame and possible impingement on the process tubes. WebIn this study, the stability zone of laminar premixed ILPG/H2-air flames was investigated experimentally. Non-swirling burners with different diameters (10, 12.5, and 17 mm) were employed to characterize the flashback and blow-off limits. Different hydrogen blends (0%-50%) at equivalence ratios (ER) (0.6-1.4) were used. WebJan 1, 2024 · The addition of H 2 accelerated flame propagation, which resulted in an earlier flame front generation followed by the occurrence of a flashback event. Therefore, controlling the combustion stability is required for expanding the flexibility of H2 in gas turbine configurations.
